Sony’s Digital Media Production Center Opens
Industry-wide resource center will support professionals’ production workflow needs– from 4K/8K and HDR to Live Production and Cinema.
Miami, Sunday April 8, 2018 — Sony’s Digital Media Production Center (DMPC) will open on May 1 at Media Center Drive, Los Angeles.
Its core mission is to offer the content creation industry including digital cinematography, production and broadcast a one stop resource for everything related to state of the art technologies and end-to-end production workflow solutions from Sony.
The new DMPC will be a showcase for Sony’s new VENICE full-frame motion picture camera, already accepted by production professionals as a new standard for cinematography. The facility will also feature a theater equipped for screenings on Sony’s Crystal LED display system or its digital cinema projectors. Additionally, Sony’s 4K Live Camera System, HDC-4300/HDC-4800, and IP Live Production System are covered, as well as full line of imaging technologies, down to the α7 series and α9 of full frame sensor, interchangeable lens cameras and α lenses to Sony’s smallest production camera, the RX0.
Using these systems and technologies, the DMPC will offer training, seminars, master classes and special events for industry professionals and students. The Center is also available to system integrators and Sony partners to experience various parts of production chain.
“Filmmakers, broadcasters and content creators of every genre and level will find the DMPC to be an invaluable resource for staying current with the state-of-the arts technology, as well as a place to come together with colleagues and share experiences,” said by Katsunari Matsuokai, president of Sony’s Professional Solutions Latin Americas group. “If your craft is creating, producing and distributing digital images, then the DMPC is your resource, created for your needs.”
The new DMPC symbolizes Sony’s continuous efforts to contribute to the content creation industry by bringing the culture of technology and imaging to the next generation.
