Sony introduces audiovisual solutions at SET EXPO 2022
Sao Paulo, 18 August 2022 – Sony Brazil will be present at SET EXPO 2022, the most important business and broadcast technology event in Latin America. The trade fair will be held on 22-25 August at Expo Center Norte, in Sao Paulo.
It will be an opportunity to show the audiovisual market the innovations made,
including solutions for studio production, journalism, filmmaking and photography, cloud-based solutions, IP and compact cameras, as well as wireless solutions, solutions for live productions on HD, 4K, HDR and reference monitors.
Photography Cameras
People will be able to see cameras with, for example, high-sensitivity full-frame sensors, like the ILCE-7SM3; or the flexibility and high performance for professional photography and video making of Alpha 2022 on the ILCE-7M4, which will be available for testing for the first time in Brazil at SET EXPO 2022; or a fast, stable, compact and versatile camera made for the digital world, like the ILCE-6400.
Robotic Cameras
For remote operation, Sony will show robotic cameras that include the PTZ range, with BRC-X400 as the stand-out model that provides high-quality images with a 1/2.5” 4K Exmor R CMOS sensor, high sensitivity and a zoom differential capacity of up to 80x on HD or 30x on 4K, supporting NDI®| HX transmission with an optional license. The SRGX40UH -winner of Infocomm 2022 Best of Show- will be available for testing as well. It is a compact camera for the B2B market that provides high quality images, easy-of-use and install, with a 1/2.5” Exmor R™ CMOS sensor, delivering very low-noise 4K images
in low light, 30X zoom on 4K (40x on HD), and the flexibility necessary for a wide range of situations.
Studio Cameras
The HDC-3500 is a camera that uses three sensors 2/3” global shutter 4K and supports the same B4-mount lens and accessories and equipment required to control the main cameras of Sony’s HDC-2000 series. This helps the user interchange setups, with the possibility of providing natural support and migration between HD and 4K, as well as between SDR and HDR. This camera may work on HD and naturally evolve through a 4K software license, as well as from SDR to HDR, with capacity to support 2x speeds on Full HD, while preserving the investment made for a current HD operation and facilitating any future migration based on new demands.
This year, the HDC-3500 camera will be working together with a HDCU-3100 CCU, having 4K and IP installed as options; the SMPTE ST2110 signal may be managed from a small IP structure on an adjacent desk.
The complete HDC series provides flexibility for the SDI, 3G-SDI, 12G-SDI or IP
interfaces by supporting the ST2110 standard.
Camcorders, Wireless and Cloud-based Solutions
The widely known Sony XDCAM Wireless solution will be available to demonstrate its high quality for low-cost live productions. These workflows are based on efficient files supporting news production requirements through camcorders that may broadcast video and audio directly from remote locations using 4G/ LTE and Wi-Fi networks.
This solution will be available on the PXW-Z280, with a 1/2-type 4K 3CMOS sensor, deep depth of field and sector top performance, putting the best 4K HDR performance in your hands. The face detection AF keeps target on focus and HLG and S-Log3 provide a surprising HDR, adaptable to any workflow. The new 5.0 version enables the Dual Link Cellular function, providing reliability in the use of two simultaneous links and at the forefront of 5G operation.
Journalists may use the PXW-X400 model – an advanced shoulder camcorder that records a variety of professional broadcast quality formats, including XAVC-L at 50p and 59.94p. This camcorder offers exceptional weight balance and low power consumption alongside excellent networking features and high picture quality. The reengineered design dramatically reduces the load on the operator’s right-arm. It supports Sony electronic viewfinders including the QHD LCD CBK-VF02 and optionally available Full HD OLED HDVF-EL30 and HDVF-EL20.
The Wireless operation may be developed from a point-to-point architecture with the PWS-110RX1A network station or a cloud-based collaborative journalism production environment. Using the C3 Portal, these machines may operate faster as a whole and produce incredible content in an efficient manner.
Cinema Line Cameras
Visitors to SET EXPO 2022 will make contact with Sony’s highest technology equipment to capture images: the PXW-FX9 camera. Its 6K Full-Frame Exmor R sensor combined with the ND electronic filter and dual base ISO result in an enhanced color reproduction quality under different light conditions and noise reduction.
Anyone expanding their artistic abilities may find in the ILME-FX6 camera (winner of two Red Dot 2021 and iF Design 2021 awards) a dynamic camera with a 4K Full-Frame sensor and a capacity of 120fps, inheriting a series of features from the Alpha line, like the Real-time-Eye AF feature.
Created by filmmakers, targeted at filmmakers and winner of the NAB SHOW 2022 Product of the Year, the VENICE 2 motion camera, which includes an 5K Full-Frame sensor, will be available for testing during the event. Recently launched, it provides for a direct X-OCN recording with an internal AXS slot and no need of external recorder, high sensitivity sensor, dual base ISO, great flexibility for selecting either spherical or anamorphic lens, and providing for operation with PL and E-mount lens: a high-performance camera of intuitive and straight-forward operation.
Broadcast Monitors
The PVM line stands out when speaking of monitoring. The launch of the PVM-HSX1 HDR-SDR conversion license, with an active license, helps the monitor perform an inverse 4K to HD conversion, color space conversion, OETF conversion, progressive to interlace conversion and 3G quad-link to single link 12G conversion.
It is worth remembering that Sony has a wide range of monitors with OLED or LCD technologies, and from different series for different applications. These include the LMD-A, LMD-B, PVM and BVM series that feature convenient resources and functions of seamless monitor operation, including support for HDR EOTF curves. The consistency among the LMD-A, LMD-B, PVM and BVM series facilitates working with monitors and integrate it to the same work environment.
BraviaPro
Just after entering the booth, you will see two professional BraviaPro monitors. The FW-43BZ35SF model, a 4K HDR 43” monitor, with 505 cd/m² and enhanced dynamic contrast, will display different Sony products and solutions. The gem of the line is the FW-100BZ40J 4K HDR 100” monitor, with 940cd/m², that will attract the audience attention with superb video quality and color contrast.
IP Infrastructure for Live Productions
Live production solutions with IP infrastructure using SMPTE ST2110 will be shown on the NXL-FR316 and NXLK-IP50Y converters, as well as the HDC camera systems and the line of XVS production switchers XVS-6000, XVS-7000, XVS-8000, XVS-9000, and the Live System Manager IP managing systems and the Live Elements Orchestrator orchestrator and IP infrastructure manager.
The latest member of the XVS family will also attend the fair: the XVS-G1 switcher inherits many of the well-established features and architecture from the current models and adds cutting-edge technology for a range of visual processing enhancements. The all-new 4RU processor is combined with a range of four stylish new control panels plus a newly developed web-based operational menu for efficient and simple installations. The XVS-G1 builds on the success of the MVS-3000A and MVS-6530 switchers, bringing full HD and 4K (UHD) capacity at an affordable price. Configurable from 1 to 4 M/E banks, the XVS-G1 offers 16 full-feature keyers with up to 44 inputs, 24 outputs in HD mode, or 24 in-12 out in 4K (UHD). These features make it the perfect choice for small to mid-size studios, flyaway packs and broadcast production units.
