SRG-300 series chosen for integrated video solution in Spanish hospitals

Madrid-based medical integrator Med&Home has selected Sony SRG-300H and SRG-300SE PTZ cameras to power its ‘viewLAB’ integrated video solution for Operating Rooms and interventional labs.
Founded in 2008, Med&Home is a Spanish medical integrator dedicated to the development, manufacture and installation of equipment for integrated operating theatres and treatment rooms. The ‘viewLAB’ is a complete video capture, management and distribution platform that allows high-quality footage of clinical procedures to be transmitted live from ORs and treatment rooms for training and education purposes.
Full HD pictures from the SRG-300H and SRG-300SE – together with images from other video modalities – can be viewed on a large monitor ‘wall’ in the OR. They can also be routed to other areas of the hospital campus, including lecture theatres and training suites.
The cameras are controlled remotely by medical-grade touch screens. These allow OR personnel to record and recall camera positions, automatically or manually adjust focus and illumination, and control camera pan, tilt and zoom movements.
The advanced system has already been deployed at a number of hospitals across Spain. In total, 64 Sony SRG-300H and 12 Sony SRG-300SE cameras feature in ‘viewLAB’ installations at the Central University Hospital in Asturias, San Carlos Clinical Hospital in Madrid, University Hospital Virgen de La Arrixaca in Murcia, University Clinical Hospital in Santiago de Compostela, Hospital Virgen Macarena in Seville, Hospital Álvaro Cunqueiro in Vigo, Hospital de Ourense, Hospital Gregorio Marañón in Madrid and University Hospital La Paz in Madrid.

High quality images, seamless integration
With ‘viewLAB’ and Sony SRG Series cameras, clinicians in Spanish hospitals can follow every step of complex clinical procedures, as well as streaming live images to anywhere in the world via the Internet.

The best cameras for the job
The SRG-300H and SRG-300SE cameras provide excellent image quality thanks to the 1/2.8″ Exmor CMOS image sensor that captures smooth, crisply detailed Full HD images at up to 60 fps with extremely low noise levels.
The cameras’ 30x optical zoom and a 12x digital zoom allows frame-filling close-ups, while the efficient autofocus feature ensures clear, sharp images, even at high zoom settings.
