Big, bright BRAVIA 4K Professional Displays are providing a more engaging visual experience to support university students’ studies and collaboration.
The displays were fitted expertly across our campus in several different teaching spaces. The quality of these products is as high as you would expect from Sony.

University of Southampton
The University of Southampton on England’s south coast is a founding member of the UK’s prestigious Russell Group of research-intensive universities that provides students with extremely high standards of education. Demanding requirements to replace its existing LED screens led to the selection of tech partner Sony, whose products and solutions already feature extensively across the institution. In total more than 150 BRAVIA 4K Professional Displays have been installed across the university campus, in a range of sizes to suit diverse teaching applications.
Sony was chosen to provide displays for the upgrade due to its excellent reputation for reliable, high-quality products and compliance with a detailed technical specification as well as efficient, customer-friendly service. The University of Southampton’s longstanding relationship with Sony – and its confidence in the value and convenience of the products – were also key in its choice of technology partner.
Without great quality screens offering superb images with high contrast and vibrant colours, it was difficult for the university to engage students with the information being displayed. The new BRAVIA Professional Displays have delivered an enhanced experience for students who now benefit from high-impact visuals to support learning. With sharing and digesting information made easier, the screens allow students to study and collaborate more quickly, easily and creatively.
Other key benefits for the university have been the displays’ reliability and convenient ‘fit and forget’ installation – advantages in an educational environment where time and resources are limited for students, lecturers and AV support staff. “This was a large scale installation for us” notes Dan Boyden at Redline Presentation Solutions who integrated the new systems across the campus. “Working with two huge organisations in Sony and the University of Southampton was a daunting task – but thanks to our reliable partnership, high standards, and collaboration we managed to get great results. We hope that students appreciate the enhanced learning experience these displays will provide.”
