New firmware upgrade to Sony DWX wireless series opens new possibilities for on location sound recording

Basingstoke, January 28, 2021: Sony announced today the availability of its latest firmware upgrade for its world class professional slot-in receiver, DWR-S03D as part of the DWX wireless series. Using the dedicated DWA-SLAU1 adaptor, sound engineers can now benefit from the established audio quality of the DWX series using the UniSlot® or SuperSlot® interface. This new compatibility will offer a wideband digital audio solution for location sound recording for movies, dramas and documentaries.

Working in collaboration with Sound Devices and AATON Digital respectively, both leading companies in their field, the firmware update of DWR-S03D receiver and their mixer-recorders enables the direct audio transmission between both devices, as well as scan and setting frequencies of Sony  wireless system from their mixer-recorder.

This new free , which includes direct frequency input function and digital or analog audio output settings when the DWA-SLAU1 is attached, means that existing owners of the DWX series can now expand the use of their equipment towards new applications, but also that sound professionals can now benefit from the .
