Stella McCartney uses BRAVIA Professional Displays at Paris Fashion Week®

The British designer requested a mix of screen sizes highlighting the important messaging of sustainability- platforming the presentation’s focal manifesto, a message from Mother Earth. Meeting the brief within the greenhouse provided a few challenging conditions, which Sony’s BRAVIA BZ40L and BZ30L series were the perfect solution for.

The conscious luxury leader, Stella McCartney, prides itself on being progressive, focusing on creating products that have minor impact on the environment, and having a set to reflect this for its Winter 2024 runway show was no surprise.

BZ40L with the Deep Black Non-Glare feature

The BZ40L offers the Deep Black Non-Glare feature, ideal for overcoming the demanding circumstances of bright lighting conditions whilst still delivering excellent picture quality. This feature guaranteed that the screens upheld a rich black level and showcased vivid, luminous imagery, even when viewed from the most extreme angles. The BZ series of displays boasts exceptional quality and is available in a screen size from 32”-98”, which perfectly aligns with the requirement of utilising various display sizes. Its compact design ensures versatility while delivering superior performance, meeting diverse needs efficiently.

We were thrilled when the Stella McCartney brand came to Sony to help equip its runway show for Paris Fashion Week. Knowing that our sustainable efforts are being recognised whilst still being able to provide the highest quality display screens, has been nothing but rewarding and working with a brand like Stella, which has a similar ethos, has made the perfect partnership.

Within Sony Professional Displays and Solutions, we adhere to the ‘Make, Move, Use’ framework to drive sustainability efforts. For example, during the production phase, we utilise SORPLAS™, a recycled plastic developed by Sony, to manufacture our BRAVIA 4K Professional Displays, significantly reducing reliance on virgin plastic. SORPLAS has been used in our BRAVIA BZ-L series since Summer 2023. Since 2018, SORPLAS has been used in Sony’s full BRAVIA range resulting in a reduction of virgin plastics by more than 60%. The packaging improvements also prioritise sustainability by minimising ink usage and promoting recyclability. Moreover, our products are engineered for longevity, ensuring durability, and reducing environmental impact.

We are always looking towards more conscious innovations and technologies in everything we do here at Stella. Sony’s vision for sustainability is aligned with our own, making for a natural collaboration at our Winter 2024 runway show.
