Sony product notice: Optical Disc Archive Drive Units and third party software
Sony has identified a rare issue which affects ODS-D280U and ODS-D280F drive units when ODC3300R media is used in conjunction with some third party software not related to Optical Disc Archive.
When leaving a cartridge in the drive with power on for a long time without writing or reading, the recorded data may be damaged on rare occasions due to a factor of the third-party software.
It is highly recommend all users of ODS-D280U and ODS-D280F update the drive firmware to version V2.200 for the ODS-D280U and ODS-D280F which is now available.
Please see below for instructions on how to update the firmware for each model of drive.
