Upgraded broadcast operations centre

Headquartered in Shenyang, Liaoning Radio and Television (LRTV) reaches audiences in the People’s Republic of China with a blend of free-to-air, pay TV, radio and Internet streaming services. Eight broadcast channels are complemented by two satellite/ground backup TV channels and an experimental 4K IP-architecture channel.

Operational since September 2021, the broadcaster’s upgraded control operations centre features a total of 60 Sony BU40H1 Series BRAVIA 4K HDR Professional Displays. Offering superb picture quality and consistency, the displays have also impressed LRTV’s technical team with their slim, attractive styling and reliable 24/7 operation. The displays were suplied by Sony distributor Shenyang Guangyi Lihui Network Technology Service Co., Ltd.

High quality round-the-clock monitoring

A centrepiece of the Broadcast and Control Centre is an impressively scaled curving console, where 26 Sony FW-65BU40H1 monitors form a super-sized video ‘mosaic’ to display content from all channels. A further four sub-control ‘islands’ are used for control and monitoring of LRTV’s public welfare channels. The first island controls satellite and satellite backup channels. The second controls metropolitan and film/TV drama channels, while the third control shopping, sports and lifestyle channels, and the fourth controls youth, north and ground backup broadcast channels. Each sub-control island features a mosaic video wall consisting of eight 65-inch Sony FW-65BU40H1 displays. They’re complemented by a further 85-inch FW-85BU40H1 BRAVIA display that monitors LRTV’s 4K Ultra HD experimental channel.

Excellent image consistency and reliable operation

The exceptional 4K HDR image quality of the BRAVIA displays also provides excellent colour consistency. This is a key benefit for LRTV’s broadcast centre where multiple screens are ‘tiled’ to make a large mosaic, further assisted by the display’s thin bezel that contributes to the video wall’s impressive visual appearance. BRAVIA’s high reliabilty also makes it an ideal choice to TV station operation, where dependable 24/7 operation is a must.
