Made for today’s medical workflows

The surgical version of our HVO-500MD recorder

The surgical version of our HVO-500MD medical recorder is tailor-made for modern hospital workflows. This compact recorder stores Full HD video simultaneously onto its internal drive and to removable USB media or networked storage – safeguarding crucial video content captured with today’s surgical imaging systems.

Keeping valuable surgical imaging data safer

Video and still images from the output of endoscopes and laparoscopic camera systems are valuable assets in every modern hospital. Providing a detailed record of surgical procedures in the OR, they’re a key element of patient records and a powerful teaching tool.

The surgical version of Sony’s HVO-500MD Medical Recorder offers extra reassurance to consultants and teaching staff that all-important images have been captured and stored reliably.

Easy storage and sharing of Full HD video and still images

Compact and easy to use, the HVO-500MD integrates with a wide range of current and legacy imaging devices. Crisply-detailed Full HD video captured at 60fps is stored on the recorder’s high-capacity internal hard disk drive. There’s a choice of image quality settings, allowing up to 100 hours of storage (in Standard Mode).

As an extra safeguard against the risk of losing valuable data, video can also be recorded at the same time to an external USB drive or network server – ideal for archive and sharing across the hospital campus. Forgetting to set the external media before the operation begins is no issue either, the HVO-500MD allows you to add media during the operation, when the recorder will then chase the content its missed from the internal hard drive.

The recorder can also capture and replay high-resolution still colour images for review or printing. Still image recording can be easily triggered during surgery via a single front panel button, optional footswitch or an external USB keyboard A generous range of interfaces includes connections for HDMI, DVI, composite video and S-Video. There’s also a standard network connector for sharing files directly via CIFS with a centralised server.

Move up to the benefits of a complete Full HD image capture and archive solution.
