Sony appoints former chairman of Mediasmiths International to lead IT and Workflow Solutions team in Europe

BASINGSTOKE, UK, 19 January 2015: Sony Professional Europe has today announced the appointment of Niall Duffy as Head of Workflow and IT Solutions for Europe. Harnessing his extensive experience within the Media and Broadcast industry, Duffy will draw upon and leverage the full breadth of the Sony business in Europe, including product, professional services, R&D, Media Cloud Services, and Sony’s disc and digital solutions arm (DADC), as well as engagement with key partners.

Joining at the start of January 2015, Duffy will be pivotal in ensuring Sony continues to lead the way in IT-based systems for media companies of all sizes, driving forward with end-to-end IP technologies. As Sony develops comprehensive solutions for the next generation of media companies, Duffy will ensure that the European division maintains and applies its core values of excellence and deep understanding within business and technology.

Drawing on over 20 years’ experience in media and entertainment, Duffy will bring deep expertise in digital workflows and the impact of transformational technology. His previous experience includes management and strategy consulting, and product marketing and development, as well as technology and workflow consulting.
