Sony introduces the latest HVO-3300MT 3D HD medical video recorder
The affordable model has network function and supports 3D recording and Ch1/Ch2 simultaneous recording
Asia Pacific, 28 November 2016 – In recent years, medical institutions have been seeking to record video images of surgical procedures for conference presentations and training purposes. In response to these demands, Sony released a medical video recorder in 2010, offering long-duration recording of high quality Full HD images from cameras that captures the surgical field – by endoscopes, laparoscopes, and surgical microscopes – and continues to play a vital role at numerous medical fronts.

With the release of the HVO-3300MT, Sony will expand the range of products that customers can choose from, and support the diverse needs of today’s medical fronts.
The main features of Sony’s HVO-3300MT include:
3D HD video recording
In addition to 2D images, the HVO-3300MT can record 3D images from rigid endoscopes and surgical microscopes, supporting the latest demands of today’s medical fronts. This allows the use of highly immersive 3D images for educational and conference presentation purposes.
Ch1/Ch2 simultaneous recording
The HVO-3300MT allows simultaneous recording of two separate input signals. For example, by using a single recorder, operators can simultaneous record images of the surgical field from an endoscope system together with the images of surgical staff conducting their operational procedures. Each channel’s recording can be independently controlled, providing greater flexibility and value to the user.
Simultaneous recording to external media
In addition to the built-in hard disk drives, the input signals can be simultaneously recorded to up to two external media devicess1. This comes in handy for doctors to access and review the recording easily at his workstation after the surgical procedure.
File upload via a network
The video images stored in the HVO-3300MT can be uploaded to servers via a network2 . Furthermore, by connecting the HVO-3300MT to Sony’s content management system, operators can view the index information and metadata of patient information attached to the video files, creating a highly convenient total solution. In addition to the high-resolution images used for conferences and training, a low-resolution copy called “proxy data,” is simultaneously generated and stored on the content management system for easy viewing and long-term storage. This enables effective storage and management of content in accordance with the given application.
Perfect replacement for existing HVO-1000MD and HVO-3000MT recorders
The HVO-3300MT offers an operation mode that utilizes the same commands as the HVO-1000MD and HVO-3000MT – recorders that are already owned by a vast number of medical institutions. This allows operators to switch to the HVO-3300MT effortlessly.
