19th January 2023, Weybridge, UK – Sony has announced its latest developments and additions to its Professional AV partnership network that offer compatible software solutions for additional power, creative freedom and enhanced capability to its line-up of BRAVIA 4K Professional Displays. By working with partners across many markets and utilising their vast experience in software development, Sony offers a complete solution that matches the needs of end users and opens up new opportunities in numerous vertical markets.
This growing partner ecosystem which sees partners including Cisco and Crestron that were announced in May 2022, contains many of the world’s leading software providers focused on Device Control & Management, Content Management and Unified Communications. Sony’s standardised Android System-on-a-Chip (SoC), one of the most powerful in the market, has allowed its partners to stick to their core competencies and deliver native software that outperforms software that must be adapted to the complex and proprietary operating systems being used by other SoC display manufacturers.
The latest additions to join Sony’s network within these three focus areas are:
Device control & Management: Kramer BRAINware & Crestron XiO – By utilising the power of SoC combined with the connection to BRAINware, Sony’s BRAVIA displays act as a central management AV control processor, eliminating the need for external control processors and extra hardware. Crestron XiO allows for simple control solution integration and remote monitoring through its cloud platform.
Content Management: Navori Labs, NowSignage, Connect Signage, Easescreen, Korbyt & Smartsign – To ensure it can provide seamless digital signage solutions, Sony has partnered with content management providers to enable its BRAVIA displays to become the focal point of digital messaging solutions in retail environments. It will ensure direct connection and workflow synergies are prioritised across different regional territories, and the backlog of new installations can be significantly reduced through seamless integration of CMS software onto its hardware, reducing the number of devices and complexity of deployment.
In November 2022, Sony announced its partnership with signageOS, a leader in cloud digital signage infrastructure to support its BRAVIA range in creating a more connected digital signage and content management system (CMS) framework. This partnership with signageOS middleware will simplify the integration of Sony’s BRAVIA displays for any CMS partners signage and device management with reduced maintenance and development costs.
Unified Communications: Cisco WebEx & Pexip – Cisco and Pexip have a large global presence for provision of video collaboration, and by utilising Sony’s powerful SoC Pexip users can run their UVC platforms directly on BRAVIA displays with a simple UVC camera bar that connects directly to the display, eliminating the need for external codec. With simple integration users of Cisco Webex Room kits can be confident that their deployments can seamlessly integrate with Sony BRAVIA Professional displays ensuring optimal video and audio performance thanks to the new enhanced firmware to support integration.
At ISE, Sony will also present its Device Management & Provisioning services to support system integrators deploying BRAVIA Professional displays, saving significant labour time using pre-ordained custom configurations and unlocking the ability to manage the displays remotely. Powered by TEOS, this solution considerably reduces deployment time and labour costs, by removing all on-site configurations, while, at the same time, simplifying BRAVIA Professional devices monitoring for all our customers, through the cloud.
“Sony’s display solutions, including our BRAVIA 4K Professional Display line up and Crystal LED wall, are chosen by the market because of their superior image quality, reliability, and flexibility,” said Damien Weissenburger, Head of Professional Displays & Solutions Europe. “Since the introduction of our esteemed professional AV partnership network, customers have seen the benefit of when unmatched picture quality and smart integrated technology are combined. By merging our strengths with those of our partners, we’re committed to creating more compatibility and integration and providing more value for our users in a growing range of vertical markets.”
At this year’s ISE, Sony will be showcasing a range of its partnerships in areas of control & monitoring, CMS, platform and hardware on the booth with its BRAVIA BZ40H, BZ30J models and the SLS-1A speaker system. Visitors to the Sony booth will be able to experience the latest partnerships Sony has been developing and hear more about future partnership plans from its experts.
