Sony Pro Ambassadors share personal experiences of filmmaking during lockdown

Basingstoke, UK, 18 June 2020: Marking the one-year anniversary of the launch of the Sony Pro Ambassador Programme, the select group of independent filmmakers share inspirational stories and advice around filmmaking in lockdown through a series of Instagram Lives.

Designed to empower creative filmmakers to share their real-world experiences, the Instagram Live series explores the impact of the pandemic on the world of filmmaking. With real-world examples demonstrating how Sony products have aided remote production, our ambassadors share their insights alongside inspirational content and advice for other aspiring young filmmakers.

Announced earlier this month via the Sony Instagram channel @sonyprofilmmaking, the Instagram Live series has featured weekly clips from the seven Sony Pro Ambassadors, each available to view via Sony’s IGTV. In celebration of the programme’s one-year anniversary, a highlights video showcasing each ambassador’s journey over the past 12 months has also been unveiled.

The Sony Pro Ambassadors include filmmakers James Matthews and Alister Chapman from the UK, Stéphane Couchoud from France, Simone Cioè from Italy, Horacio Cabilla from Spain, Alexandru Don from Romania, and Mike Suminski from Germany. Each have selected the Sony handheld camcorders, including the PXW-FS5, PXW-FS5M2, PXW-FS7 and PXW-FS7M2, to create and inspire audiences worldwide.
