Creating Solutions together with Sony at ISE 2018
Sony is back at ISE showcasing its latest AV and IT solutions that inspire collaboration, enhance efficiencies and create unique and immersive experiences.
Asia Pacific, 6 February 2018 – Sony returns to ISE 2018 to demonstrate the next-generation solutions that are going Beyond Definition to improve collaboration and communication between customers, students, and co-workers. Visitors to stand 1-N20 will be able to experience Sony’s latest IT and AV technologies for simulation and entertainment, active learning and corporate efficiency in a real-life interactive setting at the new campus style booth.
A new dimension to simulation and entertainment
Taking centre-stage at the stand is Sony’s ultimate big-screen bezel-less Crystal LED display system, delivering 8K x 2K visual images and ultra-real content for a range of different industries. With stunning picture quality, up to 180 degree viewing angles and unique scalability, the impressive solution can transform visual presentations, simulations and entertainment environments. New content, including high-end retail fashion signage, gaming/e-sports and cinema content will be on display at ISE, demonstrating the potential Crystal LED has for various applications across a range of sectors, such as industrial design simulation, automotive, retail and entertainment.
Crystal LED Display System
To facilitate the use of Crystal LED in these industries, Sony has introduced the ZRCT-200, a new controller with HDMI and Display Port interfaces that support HDR images (SMPTE ST 2084 and S-Log3). This will also be complimented by the introduction of a new Colour Management solution, which is able to reproduce the same colour among high-grade displays, including our range of OLED monitors and Crystal LED display system. This drastically reduces the time and workload required to adjust colour settings across several display devices, streamlining the workflow. Visitors will be able to see this new solution in action at the booth.
In response to industrial designers and the need to handle large volumes of data often beyond 4K and 10 bit, Sony will also be hosting a technology demonstration – beyond 4K content sharing over IP. The end-to-end scalable solution provides an IP-based seamless workflow for content sharing and design review. An expandable software platform, it can integrate with multiple devices such as Crystal LED and IP Communicators necessary for presentation. In addition, web-based GUI installed on users’ PC or tablets can provide efficient operations for presentations.
Visitors to the stand will also be able to experience Sony’s latest mind-bending spatial audio array technology, Sonic Surf VR, which allows people to dive into a ‘virtual sea of sounds’ or visit a virtual museum. The unique suite of Sony’s audio technology combines newly designed multi-channel speakers and specially developed software that enables creators to design popping, moving, and partitioning sounds in one space using the intuitive software application. The result is an interactive space where sounds appear to move around by themselves. Sonic Surf VR is suitable for a wide spectrum of applications such as theme parks, exhibitions and museums, aquariums and corporate showrooms.

The collaborative future of learning
Empowering new levels of creative collaboration and active Learning for Higher Education is Sony’s flagship interactive presentation and active learning solution – Vision Exchange. As a technological showcase, Sony will demonstrate Vision Exchange, integrated with Skype for Business – one of the most popular remote communication tools in education and business. Teams can work collaboratively, wirelessly share content from a multitude of devices, brainstorm and connect from remote locations to achieve truly global working. The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) will be joining Sony at ISE to explain first-hand how Vision Exchange will support the learning and teaching experience for staff and students at UWTSD.

Corporate efficiencies take centre stage
TEOS solutions are designed to transform workspaces for employees and visitors so that working is simplified, collaboration is enhanced and facilities management is optimised. The first solution to be launched earlier this year was TEOS Manage, giving businesses total control of their corporate workplace communications. All IP devices, Sony displays, projectors and tablets, as well as other branded devices on demand are able to be centrally controlled through the TEOS Manage platform.
Visitors will be able to see TEOS in action at the Sony stand where all available meeting rooms will be managed through TEOS and a new Corporate Reception solution will demonstrate its application for scheduling and managing meeting spaces. Also on the stand will be an interactive end-user story wall showing visitors first-hand how TEOS Manage has improved enterprise collaboration and efficiency for customers, including automation company Festo.
A bright future for projectors
Sony will be bolstering its laser projector line-up with the launch of five new installation models at ISE 2018. The new additions include Sony’s highest brightness installation projections that address the needs for large venues, the VPL-FHZ120L (12,000lm) and for mid-sized class rooms, VPL-FHZ90L (9,000lm), as well as the mid-range VPL-FHZ66 (6,100lm), VPL-FHZ61 (5,100lm) and VPL-FHZ58 (4,200lm) projectors within a compact shell. All models are in WUXGA resolution.

“Sony’s innovative solutions are out in full force again at ISE this year. We’re very excited to give attendees the chance to experience TEOS, our new projector range and Sonic Surf VR first hand in a real-life setting, not to mention our high-impact technology demonstrations, which bring the potential of our solutions to life.” said Riki Nishimura, General Manager, Business & Industrial Solutions Marketing Division, Professional Solutions Company (PSAP), Sony Electronics Asia Pacific. “The show gives us the perfect platform to collaborate with our AV partners across the corporate and education sectors to realise better solutions and experiences together.”
In the lecture theatre, visitors can attend one of the three live production demonstrations each day, covering Education, Corporate and Automotive Solutions. They will be showcasing Sony’s advanced real-time multimedia sharing and collaboration capabilities, which combine traditional video production solutions like Sony’s MCX-500 multi-camera live producer and Sony’s fully robotic range of HD remote cameras, together with UbiCast’s automated lecture capture solutions. This then allows users to share multimedia content in real time and record sessions to be reviewed at a later time.
