Introduces Two New Laser Projectors Using Newly Developed LCD Panels to Deliver High-Contrast Images with Enhanced Clarity for Universities, Corporate Organisations and Museums
The projectors include Sony’s pioneering ‘intelligent setting’ feature which simplifies installations by automatically adjusting settings based on the environment they are used in VPL-FHZ75 and VPL-FHZ70
(Asia Pacific, 30 August 2018) – Sony is bolstering its laser projector line-up with the introduction of two new installation models, the VPL-FHZ75 and VPL-FHZ70. The new additions cater to the increased market demand for large image and high brightness projections in midsize environments such as education, corporate and public applications.
Offering WUXGA resolution and colour light output of 6500lm and 5500lm respectively, the VPL-FHZ75 and VPL-FHZ70 use a newly-developed 0.76-inch LCD panel with incorporated optical compensator to deliver bright and vibrant images with high contrast of ∞:1 and true-to-life colour reproduction. Combined with Sony’s unique super resolution technology ‘Reality Creation’, enhanced clarity is also achieved.
Both models come with an industry-leading ‘intelligent setting’ feature developed through Sony’s long-term experience in laser projector business and careful research on feedback from the customers. The new feature simplifies the installation process by automatically selecting the best configuration based on the environment the projectors are used in from a choice of four pre-set modes including meeting/classrooms, museums, entertainment venues and multi-screen setups. Whether that’s adapting to a brightly-lit meeting room where brightness is most important, quiet environments such as museums requiring low noise level, or multi-screen usage where colour matching is essential, the VPL-FHZ75 and VPL-FHZ70 will optimise their performance in relation to each environment and ensure long-term stable operation.
“The demand for reliable and versatile laser projectors has grown significantly in recent years,” explained Lawrence Tang, Head of Business & Industrial Solutions Marketing Division, Professional Solutions Company (PSAP), Sony Electronics Asia Pacific. “At Sony, we work very closely with our partners and customers to create solutions together that meet their needs, no matter what sector they operate in. The introduction of our new projectors, with their advanced ‘intelligent setting’ feature, their crisp image quality and overall versatility, is no exception to this rule.”
Superb picture quality and advanced reliability
The new 0.76-inch LCD panel with its incorporated optical compensator in both projectors, as well as the use of best-in-class laser light source technology provide stunning picture quality with superior reliability.
Sony’s unique super resolution technology, ‘Reality Creation’ delivers enhanced image clarity without increasing digital picture noise and is fine-tuned to maximise the new LCD panel’s performance.
Additionally, the VPL-FHZ75 and VPL-FHZ70 boast a high contrast ratio of ∞:1, precise colour reproduction thanks to the same image quality engine used in Sony’s flagship laser installation model VPL-FHZ120L.
Quick optimum setting and flexible installation
The VPL-FHZ75 and VPL-FHZ70 are equipped with Sony’s innovative ‘intelligent setting’ feature leveraging its long-term experience in laser projector development and analysis of various use cases. The new feature drastically simplifies the installation process and maximises the performance of the projectors, enabling efficient operation and stable usage for a long period.
With their compact, light-weight and unobtrusive design, the VPL-FHZ75 and VPL-FHZ70 offer outstanding installation flexibility in any environment – even in buildings that may operate in imperfect ambient light settings, or that include unusually-shaped rooms. The projectors can also be placed in higher-positions than ever before thanks to their leading wide lens shift capability of Vertical +70%. Not only does this offer more options for where the projectors can be positioned, it also ensures that the presenter or visitors will not be distracted by the projector’s light source. In addition, without using keystone, there is no distortion of the image nor digital noise thus high picture quality with sharp focus and high brightness can be maintained.
Solutions for every environment
Through the introduction of the VPL-FHZ75 and VPL-FHZ70, which will be available in May 2019 and come in both black and white finishes, Sony completes its line-up of laser projectors. Sony now offers a full range of installation models for any setup, from the flagship VPL-FHZ120L with its 12,000lm that addresses the needs for large venues and was launched at ISE 2018, to smaller scale solutions like the VPL-PHZ11 that offer reliable picture quality while being cost-effective at the same time.
All laser models can be controlled by IP network with BRAVIA™ professional displays, thus users can power on/off projectors and displays simultaneously.
“Customers and partners alike require solutions that work seamlessly together. At Sony, we now have projectors for every environment and every room size – all of which can be integrated with our other advanced AV solutions, including our range of BRAVIA™ professional displays and TEOS, our complete workspace management solution,” concluded Lawrence.
