Overview

Centimeter accurate positioning with RTK GNSS

The RTK-1 Kit for Airpeak offers high precision positioning using the RTK GNSS (Real-Time Kinematic Global Navigation Satellite System). The system offers multiple configurations for use with included base station or GNSS correction data service, while mapping positioning data can be synced with image data capture for accurate geotagging. You can also save mapping data in Structure from Motion (SFM) software compatible format.

In addition, RTK-1 improves hovering and flight stability in manual flight, as well as offering highly accurate automated flight paths.

Features

High precision positioning by RTK GNSS for geotagging

High precision positioning using RTK GNSS (Real-Time Kinematic Global Navigation Satellite System) is possible by installing the system on the aircraft.

RTK enables the generation of highly accurate point cloud data and 3D models with accuracy within a few centimeters, compared to GNSS with accuracy within a few meters.

The obtained positioning information is recorded as mapping data on an SD card inserted in the interface unit, along with the corresponding image data file name. The mapping data is saved in a format compatible with various Structure from Motion (SFM) software. The positioning information is synchronized with high precision with the timing of image data capture and the recorded position is offset from the antenna position to the center of the image sensor. The use of this system makes it possible to link highly accurate geotagging of images.

High-precision self-positioning for manual/automated flight

High-precision positioning information from RTK GNSS is used to achieve high-precision control of the aircraft during flight. Self-positioning accuracy during manual and automated flight is improved, enabling precise operation and highly accurate automated flight path reproduction. Hovering and flight stability are also improved compared to positioning using only GNSS.

Base station included for ground based geo-positioning

The base station of the RTK GNSS receiver consists of a remote controller and an antenna unit for the base station connected by a USB cable. The remote controller sends GNSS correction data to the aircraft.

Connectivity for network-based RTK with GNSS correction data services

As an alternative to use of the included base station antenna, Connection to GNSS correction data services* is possible by configuring the network RTK on the "Airpeak Flight" mobile app.**

* GNSS correction data services require subscription with a service provider. To know more about services and how to use them, please refer to the service provider.

** When using a GNSS correction data service, the antenna unit for base station cannot be used.

Operability in environments with strong magnetic field interference

Two antenna units for the aircraft allow it to recognize its heading and fly even in environments with strong magnetic field interference where the aircraft's built-in compass cannot be used.*

* Not completely resistant to magnetic field interference. Please note that it may be affected by magnetic fields depending on the environment.

Supports logging for PPK

Post processed kinematic (PPK) logging is possible with collected data sets of the platform.

Base station disruption detection

The RTK system is designed to detect the movement or toppling of the base station. A notification appears on the mobile app if there is a change in the positioning of the base station due to strong winds or people bumping into the base station.

Dual operator capable

Dual operation is possible by connecting a second remote controller to the base station, allowing flexible operation to meet user needs.

Foldable design for easy storage

The antenna units for aircraft can be folded and stored with ARS-S1 without detaching from the aircraft.
