Intelligent Settings fine-tunes the projector’s laser output and cooling system performance, ensuring dependable performance in any environment where the projector is installed.
Brighter pictures for longer
While light levels from other projectors can fade over time, Sony models with Intelligent Settings maintain consistent image brightness for longer. Depending on how often the projector is used, laser output is automatically adjusted to keep image brightness as high as possible throughout the projector’s operating life. This function is available only when the projector is being used in Meeting Room/Classroom mode.

The VPL-FHZ85/80, VPL-PHZ61/51 are the first professional projectors from Sony featuring a built-in ambient light sensor that continuously monitors brightness levels in the room. Intelligent Settings now includes a new Ambiance feature that optimises picture settings depending on room brightness measured by the projector’s light sensor. The result: beautiful pictures in brilliantly-lit and dim rooms alike.
In bright rooms, Ambiance matches projected images to the environment, adjusting settings depending on room brightness.
In dark rooms, Ambiance ensures that images are displayed with proper colour and tonal gradations.
