Business WEEE Collection Service (BWCS)

End-of-life product disposal solutions.

What is the Business WEEE Collection Service (BWCS)?

As a part of its commitment to lessen the environmental impact of all its products throughout their entire life cycle, Sony has introduced BWCS, an end-of-life disposal solution offered to professional users of Sony business products in countries where there is no applicable local scheme.

BWCS arrangements and introduction dates will vary between European countries. We’ll be publishing regular updates on this site to give you more information about how and when you may be eligible to benefit from BWCS.

What has happened from 13 August 2005?

From 13 August 2005, you are able to request the collection of end-of-life business products by emailing us at b2bweee@sony.com. We will check to confirm that service is applicable in your case and if all is correct we will be in touch with you to arrange a collection. If you have any specific question about the BWCS then please email us.

Why has Sony introduced BWCS?

The European Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronics Equipment (WEEE) aims to reduce the environmental impact caused by the disposal of electrical and electronic equipment at the end of its operational life.

Under the terms of this directive, producers of electrical and electronic equipment are required to be actively involved in meeting the targets for re-use, recycling and recovery of ‘waste’ equipment.

Sony has created BWCS to ensure compliance with this new legislation, as and when it is introduced across Europe. BWCS will also provide a simple, effective process for the safe disposal and recycling of Sony business products.
