Stellantis Group drives visual presentation quality forward with super-size Crystal LED video wall
16m x 3m display created with Sony’s Crystal LED technology ensures spectacular visuals for global automotive group’s brand presentations and vehicle launches.
How we helped

The Challenge
- Automotive group needed reliable display solution to replace existing video projection system in its iconic Dome room

The Solution
- 16 x 3 metre video wall, created with Sony’s Crystal LED BH-series display modules

The Outcome
- Super-size images with impressive brightness, sharpness, contrast and colour accuracy
The sharpness of the images, the depth of the blacks and the fidelity of the colours are fantastic. The rendering is impressively realistic, whether for videos, 3D renderings or model comparisons.

Leading the drive to high-tech future automotive solutions
Stellantis Group is a major player in the global automotive industry, uniting 14 iconic vehicle brands with a vision to deliver world-class sustainable mobility tech solutions.
It had become a priority for Stellantis to upgrade the ageing video projection solution in its iconic Parisian ‘Dome’ room that hosts design workshops and media events, as well as presentations by Group CEOs and brand managers.
Reflecting the group’s commitment to excellence, a primary objective for Stellantis was to replace its ten-year-old video projectors with an exceptionally reliable high performance display solution. A prime requisite was the ability to accurately reproduce subtle details of vehicle models on display, showcasing colours, textures, finishes to guarantee an immediate ‘wow’ effect for audiences.

Immersive visuals in challenging environments
Realisation of the ambitious project presented some major technical constraints. These included the challenge of high ambient light levels within the space, as well as the need for consistently impeccable colourimetry to reproduce vehicle finishes and details.
Working with Sony and technology partners, Stellantis selected Sony’s Crystal LED video wall technology to realise a super-sized display screen measuring 16m x 3m in the Dome room. The decision followed a public invitation to tender, where Sony came top of three short-listed suppliers with its Crystal LED BH-series modular video wall technology. The high level of brightness (1,700 cd/m²) of the ZRD-BH15D Crystal LED screen ensures perfect visibility, even in environments bathed in natural light like the Dome. Crystal LED’s anti-reflective coating cuts on-screen glare, accentuates the depth of blacks and enhances the overall immersive effect.
Lifelike Visuals for Automotive Designs
For Stellantis, colour accuracy was an essential consideration to respect the visual identity of its car brands. Thanks to its power-packed X1™ for Crystal LED picture processor and 22-bit Super Bit Mapping technology, the Sony solution assures ultra-faithful image rendering for lifelike presentation of vehicle finishes, body colours and textures.
Coupled with the impressive size of the video wall, The Dome enables Stellantis teams to project life-size 3D representations of its vehicles. This enables accurate comparison of different models, configurations or finishes, adding further to the immersive experience of presentations.
Impressive clarity, dependable support
“The sharpness of the images, the depth of the blacks and the fidelity of the colours are fantastic” confirms Phillipe Deren, Head of Digital Style Development, Design Communication and Style Logistics at Stellantis. “The rendering is impressively realistic, whether for videos, 3D renderings or model comparisons”.
Aside from the technological performance and reliability of Crystal LED, unfailing support by Sony and integration partner SCC France ensured a high-quality service from installation through to final adjustments. This represented a significant plus in terms of Stellantis Group’s overall satisfaction with the installation.
“As project integrator we managed the entire deployment of Sony’s Crystal LED display on a suspended structure in the Dome room designed by our partner” says Laurent Benedetti, Director of the Audiovisual Department at SCC France. “This project was carried out in a particularly demanding time in August 2024, when our teams were also mobilised for the Paris Olympic Games. Despite the logistical and technical constraints, we were able to guarantee smooth, precise execution in line with Stellantis’ high expectations. This type of deployment perfectly illustrates our ability to deliver mission-critical projects in collaboration with trusted technology partners such as Sony”.
Cutting-edge solutions to today’s presentation challenges
“Supporting an international group like Stellantis in such a strategic and demanding project was a real source of pride for our teams” adds Jérémie Delvallée, Pre-Sales Engineer and Product Specialist at Sony. “This partnership has been a perfect illustration of our ability to offer cutting-edge technological solutions, while remaining attentive to the needs of our customers. The result achieved in the Dome room is a testament to Sony’s commitment to delivering uncompromising visual experiences, even in the most complex environments.”
