Medical grade option board for medical monitors
Image of the following product: BKM-256DD

Overview

The BKM-256DD option board is a DVI-D input/output board, compatible with our main medical monitor model, the LMD-2451MD.

This model will also be compatible with future models of the 51 monitor series.

The BKM-256DD has a 5V power supply capability and is equipped with an equaliser. This means that the option board is convenient for longer distance transmission for the DVI solution and optical fibre connectors.

Features

DVI-D Input and Active Loop-through DVI-D Output

Users can select RGB or YPBPR signal easily from the front control panel. The signals are: A-1 or B-1:RGB, A-2 or B-2 :YPBPR.

Equaliser circuit for the compensation of signal attenuation (DVI-D input connector only)

For a long distance transmission over 5m, we recommend the DVI-D IN connector on the BKM-256DD, rather than the one on the side of the monitor. This is because the equaliser absorbs the attenuation of the DVI signal.

Transmit over 5m (as confirmed by our internal evaluation team) without signal deterioration

However, we do add that we cannot guarantee the transmission distance because it is affected by each DVI cable performance. Therefore, if you need to transmit over 5 metres when using a DVI cable, it is recommended you ensure that the cable is of a high standard.

Provide a simple optical fiber transmission without cumbersome 5V power cabling

Optical fiber cabling is usually required on DVI interface when you need to transmit more than 5 metres. In that case, 5V power is required in order to change the signal to optical from electric. There are two ways to supply the 5V power, the first way is from AC-adaptor, and the second way is from DVI-D connector itself.

Simultaneous power supplied when two BKM-256DD models are connected

The BKM-256DD can supply the power simultaneously from each 14pin of INPUT/OUTPUT connectors- even when two BKM-256DDs are connected to the LMD-2451MD. The 5V power supply ON/OFF is switchable in the OSD MENU.
