Overview
Stylish network camera with powerful optical zoom and high-speed 360 degree endless rotation
This stylishly designed rapid dome camera is ideal for video monitoring of wide areas like shopping malls and airport concourses.
The SNC-ER521 captures crisp Standard Definition (PAL) images in a choice of three popular video coding standards to suit your needs and network conditions.
The autofocus lens with powerful 36x optical zoom range pulls distant subjects closer for detail-packed close-ups. Combined with digital zoom, maximum magnification ratio is an impressive 432x, helping identify far-away subjects even in the largest airport concourse.
Even high-contrast or backlit scenes aren’t a problem with DynaView technology that can handle extremes of light and shade for a clearer view.
High-speed 360 degree endless rotation helps pinpoint targets faster, while the camera’s wide tilt range includes an above-the-horizon capability – ideal for monitoring multi-level environments like shopping precincts and car parks.
Images can be optionally recorded onto an on-board memory card for fail-safe data backup. The camera can also be conveniently controlled from a smartphone or tablet, letting you view images remotely and adjust pan, tilt, and zoom.
The SNC-ER521 is easy to install, with HPoE (High Power over Ethernet) sharing power and data signals over the same cable to reduce infrastructure costs and labour.

Features
High-speed 360-degree endless rotation
The camera’s high-speed 360-degree endless panning capability is ideal for covering wide areas quickly.
Above-the-horizon tilt capability
With a 15° tilt-up and total tilt range of 210°, the SNC-ER521 is ideal for environments such as multi-storey car parks, shopping centres and transport terminals.
Detail-packed close-ups with 36x optical zoom
Easily find and track targets with powerful 36x optical zoom. Combined with 12x digital zoom it provides an impressive total zoom ratio of 432x.
Three codecs with dual streaming capability
Pick the video compression format that’s appropriate for your application needs and network resources. JPEG is the best choice for capturing high-quality still images; MPEG-4 or H.264 provide clear video images over limited-bandwidth networks. Dual streaming allows two video streams to be sent independently – ideal for viewing live video while recording simultaneously onto a server.
Better pictures, day or night
True Day/Night function switches the camera between Day (colour) and Night (B/W) modes, boosting sensitivity to near-IR light to see images in conditions of near-darkness.
Effortlessly handle varied lighting conditions with DynaView
DynaView with Wide-D technology expands video dynamic range, improving visibility of images in scenes with high or poor contrast.
DEPA Intelligent Video Analytics
Sony’s DEPA (Distributed Enhanced Processing Architecture) technology also transmits metadata – like object size and position – to a DEPA-enabled recorder. Image processing is performed by the camera, reducing the load on the recorder compared with conventional analytic systems.
Simpler installation with HPoE
High Power over Ethernet (HPoE – IEEE802.3at) uses the same network cable for camera powering and data transfer, reducing physical infrastructure costs and allowing simpler, more rapid installation.
On-board recording
Images can be recorded directly to an optional SD memory card for fail-safe data backup.
View and control with your smartphone
Securely access the camera using a smartphone or tablet (Android or iOS) to view images remotely and control pan, tilt, and zoom functions. You don’t even need to download a special app.
ONVIF compliance for compatibility and confidence
The SNC-ER521 conforms to ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) Profile S, the widely-accepted protocol for information exchange between network video devices. This gives extra confidence in the camera’s breadth of compatibility with other devices.
