Oscar Faura, AEC
In this interview at Camerimage 2022, Oscar discusses his experience with VENICE shooting Young Woman and the Sea starring Daisy Ridley about the first lady who crossed the English Channel. A graduate of Barcelona Film School ESCAC, his filmography includes Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom (2018), The Impossible (2012) starring Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor and The Orphanage (2007) – which earned him an ASC nomination for Best Cinematographer. He also shot two episodes of Amazon’s Lord Of The Rings series.
I shot recently Young Woman and the Sea… The fact that we had to deliver 4K made us look towards Sony VENICE… The fact that you can detach the sensor from the body, that you can shoot 4K anamorphic… especially shooting in a tricky environment like on a boat. I find it an amazing tool.
