Assuring credibility
In a world of fake news and disinformation, your reputation as a news source may depend on proving the authenticity and integrity of your content. C2PA-compliant digital signatures can be created within the camera, allowing edit history metadata to be embedded within video files.
*C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity) is an open technical standard that enables publishers, creators and consumers to track the origin and history of various types of media. It has been standardised as a framework for ensuring the transparency of information pertaining to the creation and editing of digital data.
* Requires optional paid video authenticity license.
Setting a new standard for media authenticity
As a C2PA Steering Committee member, Sony is actively contributing to the development of an open technical standard that enables publishers, creators and consumers to track the origin and history of various types of media content.

Enhanced efficiency
Workflow efficiency is enhanced by powerful AI-enabled features that can reliably automate focus, composition and exposure. This reduces the load on camera operators, helping to ensure consistently high-quality content with less manual intervention.

Subject Recognition AF
Intelligent recognition of posture and anatomical structures allows the camera to identify human subjects reliably, maintaining crisp autofocus even if the subject’s face is turned away, obscured or in shadow.

Auto Framing and Auto Tracing White Balance
Auto Framing can adjust scene composition to keep human subjects accurately positioned in the shot. Auto Tracing White Balance optimises WB for natural looking results, even in challenging lighting conditions such as when subjects are in shadow.
Smarter connectivity
Sony’s innovative wireless workflows reduce barriers to collaboration, helping journalists and news teams build stories faster. Transfer files from the field to base with a high-speed 5G connectivity add-on, or stream live with no other hardware needed.
Faster content transfers, from anywhere
The PDT-FP1 portable data transmitter delivers high-speed wireless communications between camera and cloud at 5G speeds. The Creators’ Cloud for Enterprise mobile app manages transfer of AV files and metadata, making content available for editing, sharing and streaming even quicker.

Benefits of camera-native file transfer workflows
This workflow transfers camera-native files directly, preserving high image quality while leveraging files and metadata generated at the time of capture, such as GPS data and AI-based transcription. It streamlines everything from automatic content sorting to scripting and editing, significantly reducing the time from field to air.
