Overview

Camera control for HDC-2000 Series and HDC-1500 Series cameras

HDCU-2500 is a half 19”-rack-size camera control base station for the 3G Double-Speed Multi Format HD system camera HDC-2000 Series and the HDC-1500 Series, enabling more creative capabilities for studio, outside broadcast and sports productions.

Wide range of interfaces and network control

The HDCU-2500 is equipped with a range of built-in interfaces such as 3G-SDI/HD-SDI/SD-SDI outputs, 3G-SDI/HD-SDI/SD-SDI/analogue composite return inputs, and a down-converted analogue composite monitor output. In addition, a variety of output interfaces are offered via optional boards, which can be installed in one free slot on the HDCU-2500. Furthermore, a built-in LAN interface (10BASE-T/100BASE-TX) allows the camera to be controlled over a network. Menu buttons and indicators that show the status of optical transmission on the front panel provide great operability.

Optic fibre extension includes power to the camera head

With the optional HKCU-2040 4K/HDR Processor Board and HZC-PRV20 Signal Format Software, the HDC-2000 series*1 can be upgraded to create 4K resolution images as well as 4K Live HDR (High Dynamic Range) images.

*1 The HDC-2000 and HDC-2500 do not require the HZC-PRV20.

The optical fibre transmission system used with the HDCU-2500 maintains the camera’s high picture quality across cable runs of up to 2,000 metres.*2

*2 When supplying power to the camera via optical fibre cable, maximum cable length varies with the camera system configuration, lens type, viewfinder type, the size of the optical fibre cable, and the number of cable connectors.

Features

Built-in interfaces offer versatility

The HDCU-2500 is equipped with a range of built-in interfaces of 3G-SDI/HD-SDI/SD-SDI outputs, 3G-SDI/HD-SDI/SD-SDI/analogue composite return inputs, and a down-converted analogue composite monitor output. The system has seven SDI outputs, including three 3G-SDI outputs, as standard. It also has three 3G-SDI/HD-SDI/SD-SDI, or analogue composite return video inputs.

Three types of interface expansion options

Three types of interface expansion option are available for the HDCU-2500: the HKCU-1001, HKCU-2007 and HKCU-1003. The HKCU-1001 SD Analogue Interface Unit provides two analogue NTSC or PAL VBS signal outputs, a PIX (picture monitor) output, and a WFM (waveform monitor) output. The HKCU-2007 3G-SDI/HD-SDI Output Expansion Unit provides four 3G-SDI or HD-SDI outputs. The HKCU-1003 Multi Interface Unit consists of three types of interface board and provides:

- Two analogue NTSC or PAL VBS signal outputs, a PIX output, and a WFM output (Board A)

- A frame reference input, output to lock 2-3 pull-down sequence, a PIX output, and a WFM output (Board B)

- Analogue NTSC or PAL VBS and analogue component R/G/B or Y/R-Y/B-Y outputs (Board C)

LAN interface for network control

The HDCU-2500 has a built-in LAN interface (10BASE-T/100BASE-TX) to allow the camera to be controlled over a network.

Additional interfaces for teleprompter and microphones

The CCU also features one-channel teleprompter input plus two-channel microphone outputs (two XLR connectors).

Multi-format functionality

The CCU has multi-format support for 1080/100i, 1080/119.88i, 1080/50P, 1080/59.94P, 1080/50i, 1080/59.94i, 1080/23.98PsF, 1080/24PsF, 1080/25PsF, 1080/29.97PsF, 720/50P, 720/59.94P and 1080-4:4:4-RGB (@50i, 59.94i,23.98PsF, 24PsF, 25PsF, 29.97PsF).

Extra bandwidth for creative shootings

The system offers RGB 12-bit output for creative shootings, 3D transmission on one cable, plus double speed acquisition.

Gigabit Ethernet trunk line

The CCU features a two-channel data trunk line (RS-422A/RS-232C) to facilitate easy data transmission.

High power supply

High power supply allows HDC-2000 Series cameras to operate with the HDLA-1500/HDLA-1505/HDLA-1507 HD large lens adaptors.

Supports cable runs of up to 2,000 metres*

The optical fibre transmission system used in the HDCU-2500 maintains the camera’s high picture quality across cable runs of up to 2,000 meters (6,562 feet).
* When supplying power to the camera via optical fibre cable, maximum cable length varies with the camera system configuration, lens type, viewfinder type, the size of the optical fibre cable, and the number of cable connectors.
