Getting the message across to visitors and staff
Serving customers in corporate and public sector organizations, Storm Technologies is a forward-looking value-added IT reseller headquartered in Watford, north London.
Storm has implemented a suite of technologies for both its main offices and logistics center featuring Sony’s TEOS Manage and Connect workplace solutions, together with Sony 4K Professional Displays. The total solution now gives the reseller flexibility to create, manage and deliver attractive, up-to-date information to employees and visitors with a unified digital signage platform.
Towards a more collaborative workplace
As business has moved back into the workplace following the global pandemic, companies have been looking for new ways to engage employees in a positive, collaborative environment. Valuing the importance of real-time information flow in the workplace, Storm’s needs included sharing content such as the status of customers’ overnight back-ups, sales floor figures and messages to boost staff motivation and celebrate success.
Satisfying internal and external stakeholders
Storm required an easy-to-use, customizable management system capable of integrating smoothly with its existing internal reporting systems. What’s more, they wanted a solution capable of responding quickly to changes in data and toggling instantly between internal and external information depending on who is visiting the premises. This in turn demanded a solution offering a single point of control for real-time content streaming, plus high-quality displays capable of presenting an appealing, professional image to customers and staff alike.
For customers, this could mean displaying a tailored “welcome” message on the reception video wall, with the visitor’s name and company logo superimposed over corporate video footage for a truly personalized greeting. Similarly, 2021’s Euro football tournament saw Storm employees enjoying matches in the bar area.
The solution implemented by Storm Technologies at its main offices and logistics center includes these workplace management and display technologies from Sony:
- TEOS Manage
- TEOS Connect
- TEOS Book
- IPTV Streaming
- Server room monitoring
- BRAVIA BZ35J Series to display sales stats
- BRAVIA BZ40J Series for IPTV
- BRAVIA BZ30J Series for meeting room displays
- Service desk monitoring (3×2 layout)
- Media player using TEOS
Counting the benefits
Implementing these Sony technologies has helped Storm achieve significant benefits, including simplified meeting room bookings that allow staff to check availability and book meetings from tablets. Meanwhile the media player streams eye-catching content onto a 3×3 video wall.
“It’s never been a more important time to invest in the space where people are working,” says Will Green, Service Delivery Manager at Storm Technologies. “Creating an ecosystem with Sony display technologies offers the opportunity for consistent branding. It also allows for real-time information sharing, and the ability to express our appreciation to team members when they achieve their goals.”
Easy, flexible customization
“In this instance we were our own customer,” notes Will. “The solution we implemented had to satisfy stakeholders across all departments including sales, solutions, service desk and accounts. Sony TEOS has offered us a truly centralized system that allows us to customize all content with minimal changes on our existing systems.”
“Clients have already started to inquire about the solution after visiting us or seeing it in the background of Teams calls,” confirms Will. After the success of this initial implementation, Storm Technologies is now looking at other ways to expand its Sony TEOS deployment.
