As the largest television network in France, TF1 reaches millions of viewers with original programming and TV shows syndicated from around the world. With an increasing volume of 4K and HDR content, the company needed to make sure that teams in its Parisian headquarters could see exactly the same images that its viewers would from the moment of acquisition. And that would mean upgrading the monitors used across the traffic, quality control and editing teams.
TF1 installed xx Sony BVM-HX310 4K master monitors and 13 PVM-X2400 4K HDR monitors across 10 refitted quality control and editing rooms. Now, quality controllers can carefully assess SDR-HDR conversion, thanks to bright, sharp displays with accurate colours that perfectly match across all displays. The traffic team use 30 Sony LMD-A240 HDR monitors to sync audio and video at speed, helping them deliver the highest quality images possible, at the fast pace demanded by news and broadcasting.
With the ability to manage consistent HDR pictures all the way from acquisition to broadcast, TF1 knows exactly what images its viewers will receive. Fast processing and easy switching between different interfaces and colour spaces mean that all teams can work efficiently. And support for SMPTE ST20.84 and ITU-R BT.2100 means that the company will be able to handle the highest quality cinema and broadcast content for years to come.
