Looking for a hands-free lecture experience?

After testing Sony's beamforming microphone, we knew that it's what we want. Our experimental classroom will bring more unique experiences to teachers and students in the future.

Mr Wong,
Chief Equipment Management Officer, Hefei Normal University

A classroom for the future

While designing its prototype ‘classroom of the future’ to explore new teaching styles, Hefei Normal University faced possible technology choices from different education equipment vendors in China. The university evaluated various audio acquisition options, including a directional ‘shotgun’ microphone array system and high-sensitivity desk microphones. After comparing offerings from other vendors, Hefei Normal University chose Sony’s MAS-A100 beamforming microphone system to provide a reliable, easy to use speech reinforcement solution without requiring any additional third-party equipment. The stylish, understated design of the ceiling-mounted microphone also provided an appealing fit with the esthetic theme of the futuristic classroom.

Clear sound for the whole class

Hefei Normal University has installed the MAS-A100 directly above the lecturer, near to the front of classroom. This allows highly effective speech reinforcement using just one microphone. Furthermore it allows clear audio to be recorded across the whole classroom, without the risk of interference from other vendors’ shotgun-style microphone systems.

Hands-free lecture experience

The MAS-A100 has brought true hands-free speech reinforcement and audio recording experience for teachers and students, securing the confidence of the university’s management team and encouraging them to transition to this ‘next-generation’ lecturing style. “We focus on our customers’ feeling. We solve their pain points; we bring the best performance and best experience to them. That is what we do, and what we are going to do” said by Xin Yanshu, Marketing Product Manager from Business Solution Marketing Department, Professional Solutions China, Sony China.
