During CinemaCon 2019, Sony will offer attendees the opportunity to see movies in a new light. Joining forces with Galaxy Theatres, a state-of-the-art movie theater company, Sony is bringing the world’s first premium large-format (PLF) Sony Digital Cinema auditorium to their Las Vegas Boulevard Mall location. Sony Digital Cinema is a new PLF experience that includes Sony’s dual laser projection system, along with powerful sound and luxury reclining seats. CinemaCon attendees are encouraged to visit the theatre to experience this new advancement in PLF cinemas firsthand, during its opening week.
In addition, demonstrations of the SRX-R815P laser projection solution will be held in Pompeian Ballroom II at Caesars Palace from April 2-4. The next-generation projector boasts an industry-leading contrast ratio of 10,000:1 and offers operational efficiency, along with increased immersion for vibrant imagery that matches the filmmaker’s original intent. Top theater chains across the globe have standardized on these 4K laser models. The SRX-815DS is just one of the technologies helping Sony develop and design unforgettable movie-going experiences.
“CinemaCon is a celebration of every facet of the movie industry,” said Theresa Alesso, president, Sony Electronics’ professional division. “We’re looking forward to showcasing the latest Sony technology for theater owners and celebrating in our own right as we launch our new Sony Digital Cinema PLF experience in the heart of Las Vegas, a city known for providing unparalleled entertainment.”
For more than a decade, Sony has been working with many of the world’s biggest and most prestigious theater chains, as well as small independent circuits and art house cinemas to provide exceptional products, service and support that re-invent movie-going. Robust offerings include 4K, laser, lamp, HDR, 2D and 3D projection technology options. Sony solutions provide the flexibility requested by theaters, and the superb image quality and natural color reproduction that enhances audience engagement.
