HDC Series System Cameras
Setting new standards for image quality, mobility, reliability and creative freedom in today’s live production environments.
Limitless imaging expression, unprecedented flexibility
Sony’s HDC Series system cameras bring program makers premium 4K/HD/HDR picture quality in a powerful, portable, and highly cost-effective package that maintains compatibility with your current production infrastructure and workflows.
The all-new HDC Series benefits from the latest imaging innovations, including the 4K CMOS sensor with global shutter technology – elevating clarity, color, sensitivity and dynamic range to new heights. Compatibility with other Sony system components, including camera control units, viewfinders, and large lens adaptors, unlocks more long-term value from existing hardware inventories. Familiar, intuitive operation cuts the need for costly re-skilling. And for even greater creative flexibility there’s a choice of optional software licenses, making it easy to add further functionality like High Frame Rate (HFR) capture in line with your evolving production needs.
HDC-5500/5500V
The HDC-5500 can output 4K signals directly without requiring a baseband processor unit, saving rack space in the confines of an OB vehicle or studio. Our advanced 2/3-inch 4K CMOS sensor with global shutter technology delivers spectacular images with exceptionally low noise and impressive sensitivity (F10 at 1080/59.94p or F11 at 1080/50p) while achieving the BT.2020 wide color space. The HDC-5500V is pre-installed with the Variable ND filter as well as the viewfinder slide mechanism to enable use with new viewfinders (HDVF-EL760/EL740). When used in conjunction with the HDCU-5000 camera control unit, the HDC-5500/5500V can support a High Frame Rate (HFR) at up to 4x 4K and 8x HD.
HDC-3500/3500V
The HDC-3500 offers production teams exceptional creative flexibility in a compact, highly cost-effective package. Sharing the same 2/3-inch 4K CMOS sensor with global shutter technology found in the flagship HDC-5500, the HDC-3500 supports fiber transmission as standard. To satisfy the varying requirements of modern live production, Sony offers exchangeable outside panels—the HKC-FB30 (for fiber transmission) and HKC-TR37 (for triax transmission)—while the HDC-3500H does not have a transmission function. The HDC-3500V is pre-installed with the Variable ND filter as well as the viewfinder slide mechanism to enable use with new viewfinders (HDVF-EL760/EL740).
HDC-3200
Sharing many operational features with Sony’s acclaimed HDC Series of cameras, the HDC-3200 features a highly sensitive 4K 3CMOS sensor with Global Shutter Technology, delivering sparkling picture quality with extremely low noise. You can start with less investment for HD shooting and can upgrade to 4K (2000TVL) as future-proof without any hardware change.
HDC-P50
This light, compact point of view (POV) camera offers exciting options for acquiring spectacular HD, 4K, HDR and super-slow-motion content. Used alone or as part of a multi-camera shoot, the HDC-P50 can be crane-mounted, handheld, used as a fixed position camera or in combination with a stabilizer for aerial footage. It’s compatible with other HDC system components including viewfinders, large lens adaptors, remote control panels and camera control units. The HDC-P50 can be upgraded to install the new Variable ND filter, allowing smooth transitions between different lighting conditions without any disruption to the broadcast.
HDVF-EL740/760
Featuring a Full HD 1920 x 1080, 7.4-inch OLED display panel, the HDVF-EL760 and HDVF-EL740 viewfinders will assist operators in keeping precise focus when working on HD, 4K or HDR productions. These viewfinders also come with new digital and current analog interfaces, allowing them to fit into any existing set up, thus helping with smooth fleet management.
CNA-2
The CNA-2 camera control network adaptor makes it possible to easily monitor and manage cameras across a multi-camera, multi-site live production through a simple dashboard. The CNA-2 brings a set of innovative features for controlling, monitoring, administrating and operating remote and distributed environments. Based on WEB API (Application Programming Interface), it makes developing applications for Sony system cameras simple and easy. The CNA-2 also features an optional web-based camera control application. By installing the software on the unit, users can control multiple cameras from a PC or tablet.
