Overview
The DWM-30 digital wireless microphone forms part of the DWX series system, offering high-quality full-digital operation, shorter audio latency and more reliable RF transmission mode – ideal for a variety of high-quality applications, including broadcast studio, theater and live sound.
Maximizing flexibility for users, the DWM-30 is not supplied with a microphone capsule as the DWM-30 Interchangeable head mechanism supports Sony and other third-party capsules. Sony offers three microphone heads – the CU-C31, CU-F31 and CU-F32 – and there are also a wide variety of third-party capsules to choose from, ensuring whatever your requirements, the DWM-30 wireless handheld microphone is an ideal choice.

Features
Superb audio quality wireless transmission and reception
High quality 24-bit digital audio is transmitted and received within a specific frequency bandwidth meeting Wireless Communication Regulations for each country. Using Sony’s original codec design based on years of audio engineering expertise, the DWX system delivers a wide dynamic range of more than 106 dB, wide frequency response of 20 Hz to 22 kHz, and excellent transient response.
Easy-to-grip and lightweight design
The optimized mechanical structure provides an easy-to-grip design and is approximately 10% lighter than the previous model.
Wide bandwidth
Up to 148 MHz bandwidth (depending on region) enables flexible operation with wide channel selection.
High density multi-channel operation
Ideal for large-scale productions, the DWM-30 supports high-density, simultaneous, multi-channel operation; 375 kHz spacing accommodates up to 21 channels per 8 MHz TV band, or up to 16 simultaneous channels per 6 MHz TV band.
Four codec modes for wide range of applications
MODE1: Compatible with first generation DWX-series devices.
MODE2: Prioritises short latency times while maintaining transmission stability and high audio quality.
MODE3: Additional signal processing suppresses noise caused by unexpected pulse interference.
MODE4: Prioritises audio quality while maintaining transmission stability and low delay time.

MODE4: Prioritises audio quality while maintaining transmission stability and low delay time.
Low audio latency and high quality sound
Ideal for live applications, the system achieves an extremely low audio latency time of 1.2 msec, with a 96 kHz sampling rate for very high-quality sound (codec MODE2, with DWR-R03D).
Three interchangeable heads and third party support
The DWM-30 operates with three heads. The CU-F31 microphone head with a dynamic capsule has a super cardioid pick-up and range from 60 Hz to 18 kHz. The CU-F32 microphone head with a wide dynamic capsule has a wide cardioid pick-up and range from 70 Hz to 18 kHz. The CU-C31 microphone head with a condenser capsule has a cardioid pick-up and range from 60 Hz to 20 kHz. The DWM-30 also supports a wide variety of third-party heads.
Quick open/closed mechanism for microphone heads
A robust 1.23 in/pitch 0.04 in threading interchangeable mechanism allows microphone heads to be changed easily and quickly.
Flexible audio input control with HIGH GAIN MODE
New HIGH GAIN MODE supports up to +18 dB at 6 dB steps gain up. 42 dB at 3 dB steps audio attenuation supported. Line/Microphone input supported. Transmitter audio attenuation can be controlled from the receiver side using the Sony wireless remote control system.
Stable, securely encrypted transmission and reception
The system’s improved digital modulator ensures highly stable wireless transmission that is extremely tolerant to unwanted interference. In addition, data transmission and reception with AES 256-bit encryption minimises the risk of interception to assure highly secure transmission and reception.
Remote control of transmitter functions from the receiver
Input attenuation, RF frequency selection, RF power output, Audio low-cut frequency and transmitter Sleep Mode can all be controlled remotely from the digital wireless receiver. Remote control of up to 82 transmitters can be achieved using the Cross Remote™ function and RMU-01 remote control unit.
Selectable RF output power
RF output power level is selectable (2 mW/10 mW/25 mW) to prioritize stable multi-channel or long-distance operation.
Flexible battery options and long battery life
The DWM-30 can be operated with a variety of AA-type batteries, including alkaline, lithium or NiMH. Alkaline batteries allow up to 6 hours operation.
