Install, verify, manage
Once you’ve installed our DMP app* and verified your device, that device is provisioned and ready to go. Before you begin, check that your device, OS version and network are supported here.
*From November 2023, the DMP app will be pre-installed in firmware
Preparing the installer
- Connect your BRAVIA Professional Display to the internet via ethernet cable
- Format a USB drive in FAT32 and copy the DMP installation .pkg file to the drive
- Insert USB drive to your device and run a factory reset
- Your device will detect the drive with the .pkg file and initialize the installer

Running installation
- When asked by the installer, choose “Allow” for NodeRuntimeNormal and NodeRuntimePrivilege
- Choose “Install” for io.dsmdm 1.0.0 when prompted and accept the terms & conditions
- Choose “Install” for Sony’s Device Management Platform, then choose “Activate this device admin app”
- Once the installation is complete, disconnect the USB drive and your device will reboot
- Skip the Google TV setup, follow the rest of the setup prompts, then allow USB debugging and you’re done
Adding devices to Sony’s DMP
- After completing installation, you’ll see a Sony DMP screen with a device verification code, and a Device Management Platform app will appear on your apps menu
- Log in to Sony DMP via your web browser
- In the “Add Devices” section, add the verification code for your new device and fill out the remaining details
- Once the device registration is complete, you will see this confirmed on your BRAVIA Professional Display’s screen and the device will be visible in the Sony DMP app

Installing DMP
- Check your device is supported
- Make sure your network firewall is configured to allow access to the Sony Device Management Platform
- Ensure your device has the right firmware, matching the one we recommend
- Turn on your device, take care of initial settings, install the DMP app, and then follow the installation guide found here
Verification option 1: Ad Hoc
- After installing the DMP app, you’ll be shown a unique six-character code and QR Code. Open Box or REST API to input the verification code.
- It’s easy to name, categorize and set initial configuration, as well as device policies. And you can build a custom workflow and UI for device verification
[Only valid for the core app without the built-in applet]

Verification option 2: Automated via pre-verification
- After installing the DMP app with a built-in applet, the device will automatically verify itself under the applet’s organization
- Ensure device is pre-registered into DMP through either a bulk (CSV) upload or scanning the device carton’s QR code and following the device provisioning instructions
- Connect device to an ethernet with internet access
- Boot device and wait for device claim QR Code to appear onscreen
